Latoya Leads with Love

Latoya leads with love, holding keys in front of donated vehicle

Latoya said she is no stranger to public transportation

Latoya’s small vehicle died this past Easter and she had to borrow her work minivan to get to and from work. She didn’t realize how much she would enjoy driving a minivan over a car until she had the chance!

Driving to and from work at City Gospel Mission was no problem in her smaller car, but her personal life was another story. Latoya is a mother of four grown children and nine grandchildren (with one on the way). Latoya loves her job as the Discipleship Coordinator at City Gospel Mission but she loves spending time with her grandchildren even more. After borrowing the work van for a while, Latoya was approved to buy a minivan from ChangingGears! Now that she has her own minivan, she can bring more grandchildren with her to church, drive them to school when needed and make memories at IHOP and the zoo!

Latoya said she is no stranger to public transportation. It was a part of her childhood and even into adulthood until she got her own driver’s license at age 30. This is her first experience driving a minivan and she just can’t believe how amazing it has been to include more of her family on adventures.

The donor of this vehicle mentioned the many memories they got to make with their family in this minivan and that they hope the same for Latoya! She received well wishes and got a little choked up when we shared this message with her. Latoya can’t wait to create even more family memories in this minivan!
